The Opportunity
Lonestar Forklift is looking for a Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive) to join our team in Odessa, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As a Field Technician for Lonestar, your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing critical mechanical maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery as required by customers
- Collaborating with the Shop Lead, Shop Coordinator, Service Manager, and Technical Support Center regarding service jobs and repair needs
- Communicating with the Field Dispatcher following service jobs
- Communicating with the Parts department to ensure parts are ordered as needed; tracking and following up on parts for ongoing jobs
- Reviewing and discussing job details with customers before and after completing service jobs
- Seeking out additional repair opportunities on retail jobs
- Completing work order forms as and warranty paperwork as required
- Adhering to the Lonestar Safety Program
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
- Experience in a comparable mechanical role in a related industry, such as material handling equipment and heavy machinery
- Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and internal stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude for mechanical and technical concepts
- A strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- Valid driver’s license required and ability to travel to customer sites in the region
