About the Position
In the role of Registered Nurse Manager, you will lead a team of nursing staff in providing high-quality resident care. With core skills in management, patient care, and critical thinking, you will oversee daily operations, ensure adherence to protocols, and maintain a safe environment for all residents and staff. This position exercises considerable judgement in applying professional knowledge to solve nursing care and emergency issues, and is responsible for the supervision of all nursing staff on the assigned shift.
Available Shifts: 11pm to 7am (6 shifts/pay)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates care of elders on assigned shift; communicates shift concerns by unit to appropriate staff, including nursing administration
- Observes all infection control procedures related to nursing services and ensures compliance by nursing staff on shift
- Completes rounds with physicians and ensures information is communicated to appropriate staff; communicates with physicians and obtains and transcribes orders
- Assists Unit Nurses with giving medications and performing treatments as needed; assists with feeding residents at meal times as needed
- Completes AIMS tests every six months for elders receiving antipsychotic medication
- Conducts assessments of elders who are experiencing acute changes
- Conducts assessments on residents who are acutely ill and documents findings in medical record
- Conducts assessments for injuries on residents who have fallen; documents finders and any care or interventions provided
- Attends Care Plan meetings; reviews and updates Plan of Care for residents as needed
- Provides clinical expertise in medical management, crisis and behavior management techniques, and in the management of medical and psychiatric emergencies
- Assists the Director of Nursing with periodic performance evaluations for Unit Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants on assigned shift
- Oversees and assists Unit Nurse in completing risk assessments and investigation of injury; functions as a Unit Nurse when needed
Qualifications
- Valid RN License
- Management experience
- Strong background in patient/resident care and supervision
- CPR certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in EMR and EHR systems
- Ability to lead and manage a team efficiently
Salary : $43 - $48
