Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
A nonprofit human services organization in the Reading area is seeking a polished, hands-on Human Resources Business Partner to provide HR operations support to affiliate teams within a regulated human services environment.
This role will act as a liaison between affiliate leadership and the central HR team, supporting employee relations, compliance, onboarding, workers’ compensation, employee changes, performance evaluations, HRIS accuracy, and manager support. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work professionally with managers, employees, HR leadership, and executive leadership.

Responsibilities
- Provide consultative HR operations support to assigned affiliate organization(s).
- Serve as a liaison between affiliate leadership and the central HR team.
- Support managers with HR policies, procedures, employee matters, and documentation.
- Manage the distribution and administration of employee performance evaluations.
- Facilitate employee engagement efforts.
- Investigate and resolve minor employee relations matters, escalating more complex matters when needed.
- Maintain HR compliance items in preparation for regulatory audits and licensing visits.
- Manage job description distribution and signature completion.
- Complete post-employment processes and employee change documentation.
- Submit personnel change notices for employee updates.
- Process employee suspensions in collaboration with Employee Relations.
- Review new hires and complete new hire employment requests.
- Audit weekly employee changes and new hire templates to ensure HRIS accuracy.
- Review and process employee transfer requests.
- Serve as the first point of contact for workers’ compensation occurrences.
- Process workers’ compensation claims and injuries in partnership with the workers’ compensation team.
- Review employee rosters and update records as needed, including no-pay reports.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to review and maintain open position reports.
- Facilitate new hire welcome meetings and review affiliate-specific policies and procedures.
- Support additional HR projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred.
- SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
- 3–5 years of direct Human Resources experience required.
- Nonprofit HR experience preferred.
- Human services, behavioral health, residential services, IDD, healthcare, or regulated-environment experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with employee relations, onboarding, HRIS updates, workers’ compensation, performance evaluations, compliance documentation, and manager support.
- Strong communication skills and ability to represent HR professionally.
- Polished, positive, and comfortable working in a corporate office environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate employee records.
- Ability to work independently while staying aligned with HR leadership.
- Comfortable working fully onsite.
