We are seeking an experienced IT/OT Architect to bridge enterprise IT systems with industrial OT environments. This role is responsible for designing, securing, and supporting integrated architectures across industrial control systems (ICS) and corporate IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV or comparable DCS/PLC platforms, along with a strong foundation in enterprise networking, virtualization, and cybersecurity.
This is a hands-on architecture role, not purely advisory, and requires close collaboration with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities
OT / Industrial Systems
- Architect and support OT environments including Emerson DeltaV or equivalent DCS/PLC platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Honeywell).
- Design and maintain secure, reliable ICS architectures aligned with production and operational requirements.
- Support plant-floor networking, control system segmentation, and OT system lifecycle management.
- Partner with controls engineers and operations teams to modernize and standardize OT platforms.
IT Infrastructure & Architecture
- Design and support enterprise IT infrastructure including:
- Network architecture (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VLANs, routing)
- Server and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Windows/Linux servers and Active Directory environments
- Integrate OT systems with enterprise IT, data historians, and business applications.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and system resilience across IT/OT environments.
Security & Compliance
- Implement IT/OT security best practices including network segmentation, access control, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on risk assessments, incident response, and remediation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISA/IEC 62443, and internal security policies.
Architecture & Strategy
- Develop IT/OT architecture standards, documentation, and roadmaps.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve reliability, security, and scalability.
- Serve as a technical advisor for IT/OT convergence initiatives and capital projects.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, OT systems, or IT/OT architecture
- Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV or comparable industrial control systems
- Strong enterprise IT background, including:
- Networking fundamentals and security
- Virtualization and server infrastructure
- Windows/Linux system administration
- Experience designing or supporting industrial network architectures
- Understanding of IT/OT cybersecurity principles and frameworks
- Ability to work onsite in Collegeville, PA (local candidates only)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in regulated or industrial environments (manufacturing, pharma, chemical, utilities)
- Familiarity with:
- Historians (OSIsoft PI or similar)
- Industrial Ethernet and fieldbus protocols
- Cloud or hybrid architectures supporting OT data
- Certifications such as:
- CISSP, CCNA/CCNP, VMware, or ICS-focused security certifications
