Job
Summary: The Audio-Visual Foreman will oversee the installation and maintenance
of audio-visual systems in commercial settings. This role requires a strong
technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple
projects simultaneously.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead
a team of AV technicians in the installation, configuration, and
maintenance of AV systems.
- Ensure all
installations meet company standards and client specifications.
- Read and interpret
blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Coordinate with
project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project
timelines and budgets are met.
- Troubleshoot and
resolve technical issues on-site.
- Maintain inventory
of commercial equipment and supplies in vans and warehouse.
- Ability to
maintain project schedules, reports, job tracking and work orders.
- Ability to manage
2-8 technicians and/or subcontractors across multiple projects and sites
simultaneously.
- Train and mentor
junior technicians.
- Ensure compliance
with safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in
commercial project installations.
- Assist in career
path for commercial technicians
· Assist with tracking to
ensure jobs are being entered in the time sheet database correctly. Insure all
assigned daily tasks and ensuring projects are done correct and timely fashion.
· Assist with problem
resolution, complete interfacing with the project managers and sales
team.
- Familiarize
yourself with each project scope, drawings, and contract, gaining an
overall knowledge of the systems functionality and the terms of the
contract
- Oversee commercial
equipment rack building: Quality, wire routing, racks are wired
according to plans, racks go out the door ready to go. Ensure racks
are ready for the cloud (power and network)
- Monitor project
job stack regularly to ensure there are no material delivery hold-ups.
Enforce the sign-in / sign-out procedures (Warehouse docs above job
stacks).
- Neat and legible
labeling of wires and components according to company standards
- Experience with
termination including RJ45, DB9, HD15, RCA, BNC, and other compression,
crimp or solder on terminations. Fiber termination, installation, and
splicing a plus.
- Understanding of
how to trim-out basic in-wall/in-ceiling speakers with or without pre
construction brackets, phone ports, data ports - I.E. RJ-11, RJ-45
jacks/ wires, and other basic equipment. Insuring all trim-out
products are straight/level and lined up correctly. Laser level is a
must on in-wall and on wall installations.
- Ability to rack
mount most equipment, lacing rear bars in proper places, and rack rails
along with terminating basic power to a power strip, labeling all cables
and components.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years
of experience in the audio-visual industry, with at least 2 years in a
supervisory role.
- Proficiency in
installing and configuring AV systems, including projectors, displays,
sound systems, and control systems.
- Strong
understanding of low voltage wiring, signal flow, and AV system
integration.
- Excellent
leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work
independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s
license and reliable transportation.
- Relevant
certifications (e.g., CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I) are a plus.
