Position Overview:
As an In-Home Mental Health Support Specialist, you will work 1:1 with children in their homes and communities—where they live, learn, play, and interact. You will support children in building essential life skills, developing individualized coping strategies (such as self-care routines and mindfulness techniques), and improving communication within their families and support systems.
This is a rewarding, flexible role perfect for individuals currently in school, working other jobs, or seeking meaningful part-time work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; exceptions may be made for applicants who have sufficient experience in a human-services–related fieldExperience in human services preferred
- Preferred: At least 1 year of experience working with youth within the human-services–related field
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle (for only Long Island), and current auto insurance.
- Ability to pass all state-mandated background checks (including fingerprinting and the State Child Abuse Registry).
Schedule:
Hours are based on the needs of the families and service providers.
The ideal candidate is available two or three days during the week from the hours of 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM, as most clients are school-aged and typically available after school hours. Flexible scheduling makes this position a great fit for individuals attending school or working other jobs. Weekend availability is a plus, but not required.
Service Areas/Location:
We serve Long Island, Queens, and Brooklyn and are actively hiring in most areas within these regions. While we do our best to match workers with their preferred locations, placements depend on client availability and need.
Compensation:
Starting pay ranges from $27.00 to $30.00 per service hour during a two-month probationary period. After successful completion of the probationary period, there is an opportunity to earn $30.00 to $33.00 per service hour, based on services provided.
For tasks that do not involve direct client work—such as training, supervision, and treatment plan development—you will be paid a non-billable rate of $24.00 per hour during the probationary period. Upon successful completion of probation, this non-billable rate increases to $28.50 per hour.
Applicants with a Master’s degree and at least one year of relevant experience in children’s mental health, addiction, foster care, child welfare, juvenile justice, or related human services fields are eligible for a higher pay rate of $46.00 per hour after successfully completing the two-month probationary period.
Your pay will be determined by the services you are eligible to provide. The services you may offer— and therefore your pay rate—are based on your educational background and/or experience level, in accordance with state guidelines.

Work Location: You will meet with clients within their homes and communities. Completing paperwork (notes, treatment plans), training and supervision will take place remotely.
