What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-Home Mental Health Support Specialist position at Lodestar Children's Services?
We are seeking an in-home mental health provider to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals beginning or continuing their careers in mental health who want hands-on experience providing direct support to youth and families. Under the guidance of mental health professionals, you will implement treatment goals, teach coping strategies, and reinforce positive behaviors in real-world settings.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree (completed or in progress).
Experience In Human Services, Childcare, Or Education (preferred)
Valid drivers license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance. For Brooklyn/Queens providers ONLY - a reliable vehicle is not mandatory - access to public transportation would be sufficient.
Ability to pass all required background checks (fingerprinting and NYS Child Abuse Registry clearance)
Schedule & Flexibility
Part-time/Per-diem position.
Hours vary based on client needs. As most clients are school aged, most shifts are between 2:00pm and 8:00pm.
Flexible scheduling perfect for students or those with other jobs.
Flexible scheduling for weekend availability (Weekend availability is a plus, but not required).
Compensation: Pay is calculated on a per-diem model.
Starting pay: $24.00 $27.50 per service hour during a two-month probationary period. Probationary pay is determined by educational level only.
Post-probation: $28.50 $32.00 per service hour based on performance and services provided (after successful probationary period). The types of services you can provide are based on educational level and/or field experience.
Higher Pay Eligibility: Applicants with a Masters degree (in Psychology, Sociology, or Counseling) and at least one year of relevant experience in childrens mental health, addiction, foster care, child welfare, juvenile justice, or related human services may be eligible for $46.00 per service hour after completing the probationary period.
