ROLE SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for precast concrete products and related services. This role supports sales, engineering, and production teams by analyzing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop proposals that align with Locke Solutions’ capabilities and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, architectural plans, and project specifications to determine scope.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, material calculations, and cost analyses.
- Prepare and submit accurate cost estimates, bids, and proposals in a timely manner (Responsiveness).
- Collaborate closely with engineering, sales, and production teams to validate feasibility, mold requirements, and lead times (Teamwork).
- Demonstrate initiative by independently driving tasks to completion and seeking continuous improvement (Self-Motivated).

- Identify issues early and provide effective value-engineering and problem-solving solutions (Problem-Solving).
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Maintain cost databases, historical pricing, and standardized estimating tools.
- Participate in bid reviews, clarification discussions, and project handoff meetings.

- Consistently produces accurate and competitive estimates delivered on or before deadlines.
- Maintains an estimate accuracy variance within acceptable company targets.
- Delivers clear, complete, and well-organized proposals to internal teams and customers.
- Demonstrates strong collaboration with engineering, production, and sales teams.
- Supports revenue growth through effective value engineering and customer solutions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
- 1 ~ 3 Years Experience in estimating or quoting within construction, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, OST, Excel).
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work cooperatively within cross-functional teams .
- Demonstrates initiative and strong personal drive.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a results-oriented mindset.
