Field Production Manager - Windows & Exteriors

Locke & Ladder
Carmel, IN Full Time
POSTED ON 7/21/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/17/2026

LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE MEDIOCRE. WE HAVE NO INTEREST IN BEING MEDIOCRE.

At Locke & Ladder, our desire for impact demands excellence in team culture, product offerings, installation standards, and the homeowner experience. If being or becoming a person of excellence is not important to you, please do not apply to work here.

We take care of our neighbors, our clients, and each other. We invest in our people. We stay curious. We keep learning. We are dreamers and doers: we think big, then take practical steps to make the vision real.

This is not language we put on a wall and forget. It is the standard we expect to see in the field.

THE ROLE

Locke & Ladder is hiring a Field Production Manager with deep residential window experience and strong working knowledge across the exterior trades.

This person turns a sold project into a clean, well-run installation and a homeowner experience we are proud to stand behind. This is not a desk-first production role. About 75% of your time will be spent in the field and 25% in our Carmel office.

Windows are the specialty. You understand replacement window installation well enough to spot weak work early, explain what needs to change, and protect the details that determine whether the finished job performs and looks right. You are also comfortable stepping into siding, roofing, doors, gutters, and related exterior work when the project calls for it.

The role is based out of our Carmel office and serves residential projects across the Indianapolis market.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

- Manage residential exterior projects from the post-sale handoff through final completion, with a heavy emphasis on windows

- Walk jobs before installation to confirm scope, measurements, materials, access, and job readiness

- Coordinate schedules, crews, vendors, materials, and field priorities

- Build and maintain dependable subcontractor and installation-crew capacity

- Be present on job sites at the stages where supervision matters most

- Inspect window installation details, flashing and water management, exterior and interior finishes, operation, and final cleanup

- Coach crews, correct problems on the spot, and hold the standard without creating chaos

- Keep homeowners informed, answer questions clearly, and surface changes before they become surprises

- Own punch-list, service, and closeout work until the job is actually complete

- Keep the CRM current with accurate notes, photos, tasks, costs, and closeout records

- Help improve the production systems behind the work so quality does not depend on memory or luck

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

- Jobs start ready, with the right crew and the right materials

- Window installations meet manufacturer requirements and Locke & Ladder standards

- Problems are found early and solved directly

- Crews know the scope, the schedule, and what excellent work looks like

- Homeowners know what is happening and who is accountable

- Job sites stay organized, safe, and clean

- Punch lists and service issues do not linger

- The CRM tells the real story of every project

- Reliable crews want to keep working with us because expectations are clear and people are treated with respect

WHAT YOU NEED

- 5 years of proven residential exterior production, project-management, or installation leadership

- Deep, hands-on knowledge of replacement windows and window installation

- Strong working knowledge of siding, roofing, doors, gutters, and related exterior systems

- A track record of leading crews, protecting quality, solving field problems, and finishing what you start

- Established working relationships with dependable installers and subcontractor crews, especially window crews

- Strong attention to detail and the judgment to know which details change the result

- Clear, professional communication with homeowners, crews, vendors, and the office team

- Comfort using a CRM and keeping project records accurate

- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record

- Ability to climb ladders, work outdoors in active job-site conditions, and lift up to 75 pounds safely

Technical experience is not enough. You need to believe in what Locke & Ladder is building and want to help make it real. We expect excellence, curiosity, integrity, follow-through, and care for the people in front of you.
