Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, and social-emotional learning tailored for toddlers
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive, organized environment conducive to active learning and exploration
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote language development, fine and gross motor skills, and early childhood education principles
- Help with classroom routines such as diapering, feeding, nap times, and transitions to ensure a smooth daily schedule
- Observe and document individual progress and behavior to inform lesson planning and communicate effectively with parents and team members
- Support inclusive practices by working with children with autism or other disabilities, ensuring all children feel valued and supported
- Maintain a clean, safe classroom environment by following health and safety protocols at all times
Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles specific to toddlers
- Experience with special education strategies and working with children with disabilities or autism
- Knowledge of curriculum development including Montessori or preschool methodologies
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and engaging with parents
- Ability to plan and execute engaging lessons focused on literacy education, math fundamentals, and behavior management
- Classroom management skills to foster positive behavior and create a nurturing atmosphere
- Prior experience in daycare or private preschool settings preferred but not required
- Familiarity with working with individuals with diverse needs in early childhood settings
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children in a caring, energetic manner
