International Tax & Private Wealth Associate (2 years)

The Opportunity
A leading global law firm is seeking an International Tax & Private Wealth Associate to join its Miami office.
The practice advises high-net-worth individuals, families and private clients on sophisticated US and cross-border tax and estate-planning matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with international private-client tax experience to develop a specialist practice advising clients on pre-immigration planning, expatriation, cross-border investments and estate planning.
The Role
The successful attorney will advise private clients on matters including:
- US federal income-tax planning.
- Estate and gift tax planning.
- Cross-border estate planning.
- Pre-immigration tax planning.
- Expatriation planning.
- Inbound and outbound investment structures.
- Advising foreign individuals and families investing in the United States.
- International information-reporting requirements.
- Private-client tax structuring.
- Researching complex federal and international tax matters.
- Drafting planning documents and client advice.
- Working directly with high-net-worth individuals, families and their advisers.
The Candidate
Candidates should have:
- At least 2 years of relevant post-JD tax experience.
- Experience advising private clients on US tax matters.
- Substantive estate-planning experience.
- Cross-border private-client experience.
- Experience with pre-immigration, expatriation and/or inbound and outbound planning.
- Strong technical tax knowledge.
- Excellent legal research and drafting skills.
- Strong academic credentials.
- A Tax LL.M.
- A JD from an accredited US law school.
- Florida Bar admission or eligibility for admission.
Spanish or Portuguese language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
