Wage & Hour Associate (3–5 years)

The Opportunity
A nationally recognised Labor & Employment law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Wage & Hour Associate to join its New Jersey team.
The successful attorney will represent employers in sophisticated wage-and-hour matters, including class and collective actions, while also advising clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws.
This is an excellent opportunity for a 3–5 year employment attorney looking to deepen their experience within a specialist national Labor & Employment platform.
The Role
The attorney will handle a broad range of wage-and-hour and employment matters, including:
- Wage-and-hour litigation.
- Class and collective actions.
- FLSA and state wage-law matters.
- Drafting pleadings and substantive motions.
- Managing written and electronic discovery.
- Taking and defending depositions.
- Preparing for hearings, mediations and trial.
- Advising employers on wage-and-hour compliance.
- Conducting legal research and drafting client advice.
- Working directly with employers on litigation strategy.
- Managing matters from commencement through resolution.
- Supporting broader Labor & Employment matters where appropriate.
The Candidate
Candidates should have:
- 3–5 years of substantive Labor & Employment experience.
- Wage-and-hour experience.
- Experience with class and/or collective actions would be particularly valuable.
- Strong litigation drafting skills.
- Experience managing discovery.
- Deposition experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong case and project-management ability.
- A JD from an accredited US law school.
- Active New Jersey Bar admission and good standing.
New York Bar admission would be advantageous where the candidate's practice includes New York matters.
