An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Construction Litigation Associate to join a highly regarded national law firm with an established and growing Construction practice in Tampa, Florida.
This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated and high-value construction disputes, representing a diverse client base that includes developers, contractors, subcontractors, owners, architects, engineers, and other construction industry professionals. You'll join a collaborative team handling complex matters from initial strategy through to trial and resolution.
The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of construction litigation matters, taking responsibility for files independently while collaborating with experienced attorneys on larger, more complex disputes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a broad range of construction litigation matters from inception through to resolution.
- Advising clients on construction contract disputes, delay and disruption claims, defect claims, payment disputes, and risk management.
- Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents.
- Conducting depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings.
- Developing litigation strategy and working closely with clients to achieve commercially focused outcomes.
- Collaborating with experts, consultants, and technical professionals throughout the litigation process.
- Managing deadlines, client communication, and all aspects of case progression efficiently.
About You
The successful candidate will possess:
- 4 years' experience in Construction Litigation.
- Admission to the Florida Bar.
- Experience managing litigation matters with a high degree of autonomy.
- Strong drafting, advocacy, negotiation, and legal research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
