In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments, ensuring that inventory is correctly logged and stored. - Receive inbound shipments by unloading trucks using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring safe handling at all times
- Verify shipment contents against purchase orders and packing lists, utilizing RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) for accurate data entry
- Inspect incoming goods for damages or discrepancies and communicate issues promptly to supervisors
- Properly stock received items in designated warehouse locations, utilizing reach trucks and order pickers as needed
- Prepare items for shipment by packaging and labeling orders according to company standards, supporting order picking and packing processes
- Maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound shipments within the warehouse management system (WMS) or AS400 platform
- Assist with inventory counts, stock replenishment, and organization to optimize warehouse distribution efficiency
- Previous experience working in receiving
- Proficiency with RF scanners, and AS400 is highly desirable
- Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely; forklift certification is a plus
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects regularly and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, order fulfillment, and inventory management practices
