Transportation Mechanic Manager

Position: Transportation Mechanic Manager

Location: Central Office

Criteria

• Have a minimum of five years working as a heavy truck or bus mechanic
• Two years certification in diesel engines and medium duty trucks
• Working knowledge of all laws and policies involved in purchasing parts
  
  

for vehicles involved in school transportation

• Guide and lead mechanics in decision making with regard to repair
• Order and run parts as needed
• Monitor and track any equipment sent for outsourcing
• Keep parts room, shop, and perimeter clean
• Schedule and confirm bus inspections, while making sure tagging has been completed
• Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations with regard to purchasing school buses
  
  

Job Goal

• Confer with supervisor/director of transportation and other administrative personnel to review department needs and discuss any changes deemed necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the department with regard to current trends in transportation. Perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisor and or the director of transportation and administrative personnel.
