Bus Shop Mechanic

Position: Bus Shop Mechanic

Location: Central Office

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED Equivalent
• Must have or obtain a LA commercial driver's license (CDL);
• Must be able to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Two (2) years of mechanic experience preferred
  
  

Job Duties

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair gas and diesel vehicles; including damaged mechanical body and interior bus parts
• Ensure that the buses meet federal, state, and local safety requirements
• Inspect school buses and sign forms indicating compliance with state requirements provided by law
• Perform prescribed maintenance program of the bus fleet as implemented by the Transportation Supervisor or designee
• Maintain and complete work orders with work completed and parts used to repair or maintain vehicles assigned
• Assist with accidents when needed
• Perform related duties/responsibilities as required by the transportation supervisor or designee
