What are the responsibilities and job description for the Campus Marketing Manager — Founding Campus Team position at LIVEY?
Company: LIVEY
Location: University of Minnesota Twin Cities — Minneapolis, Minnesota
Positions Available: Hiring 2–3
Start Date: Mid-August 2026
Term: Fall 2026 semester
Help Launch a New Kind of Dating App at the University of Minnesota
LIVEY is a video-first dating app built around one belief:
Modern dating apps have failed young people.
Dating has become endless swiping, carefully edited profiles, dead conversations, bots, and weeks of messaging that often go nowhere. LIVEY is designed to bring dating back to what actually matters: real people having real conversations face-to-face.
Instead of swiping through profiles, LIVEY connects users through short, live video speed dates. People talk before they match, build an actual first impression, and decide whether there is a real connection.
We are preparing to introduce LIVEY to college campuses for the first time, and the University of Minnesota will be one of our founding campus launches.
We are hiring 2–3 Campus Marketing Managers who want to help build that launch from the ground up.
PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING
THIS IS NOT A ROLE FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO BE GIVEN A LIST OF TASKS EVERY WEEK.
This role is for someone who sees an opportunity and takes action.
We are looking for builders, creative thinkers, marketers, entrepreneurs, and people who genuinely believe students deserve a better way to meet.
You will have significant freedom to create and run your own marketing strategy for the University of Minnesota.
You will not be handed a script and told exactly what to do.
You will be expected to ask questions like:
* How do we get students talking about LIVEY?
* What would make someone download the app and actually use it?
* Should we launch through Greek life, dorms, student organizations, social media, campus events, or all of the above?
* What kind of competition would spread fastest across campus?
* What would make LIVEY feel like the app everyone is suddenly talking about?
* Which ideas should we test first?
* How do we turn downloads into students actually joining LIVEY during live dating hours?
You will work directly with LIVEY’s founder for guidance, mentorship, brainstorming, feedback, and support.
But this is your campus.
We are trusting you to understand the University of Minnesota better than we ever could from outside it.
Good ideas will not get buried in meetings. If you have a strong idea on Tuesday, there is a real chance we will be testing it by Friday.
What You May Work On
Your strategy could include:
* Creating a campus launch plan for LIVEY
* Organizing Greek life competitions between fraternities and sororities
* Running dorm, student organization, or residence hall challenges
* Setting up booths or tables at campus events
* Talking directly with students about LIVEY
* Distributing flyers, QR codes, merchandise, or promotional materials
* Building relationships with student organizations
* Partnering with campus leaders and student government
* Creating TikTok, Instagram, or other social media campaigns
* Recruiting creators or students to produce LIVEY content
* Coordinating launch nights and campus-wide promotions
* Building partnerships with local businesses near campus
* Working with professors who may want to use LIVEY as a case study, class project, marketing challenge, or startup example
* Gathering student feedback and sharing it directly with the product team
* Developing completely new growth ideas that we have not thought of yet
These are examples, not a checklist.
We want you to decide what will work best at your campus.
What You Will Learn
This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in:
* Startup marketing
* Customer acquisition
* Growth strategy
* Campaign development
* Referral marketing
* Community building
* Event marketing
* Social media marketing
* Campus partnerships
* Measuring campaign performance
* Using AI to improve ideas, strategy, messaging, and execution
* Turning a rough idea into a real campaign
* Learning from campaigns that do not work and quickly improving them
LIVEY is an AI-first company. We use AI to challenge our assumptions, improve strategies, generate ideas, evaluate campaigns, and move faster.
You will learn how to use AI as a real business and marketing tool—not simply to write captions or complete assignments.
Who We Are Looking For
You may be a strong fit if you are:
* Creative
* Entrepreneurial
* Comfortable taking ownership
* Passionate about marketing, startups, technology, dating, or human connection
* Willing to talk with students and build relationships
* Able to turn ideas into action
* Comfortable experimenting and learning quickly
* Dependable
* Curious
* Excited about building something before it becomes widely known
* Comfortable working independently while still collaborating with a team
Previous marketing experience is helpful, but it is not required.
We care more about your initiative, creativity, judgment, energy, and belief in what LIVEY is building.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation includes:
* A small stipend
* Performance-based commission tied to verified users
* Bonuses for successful campus events and campaigns
* LIVEY Premium for life
* Marketing and startup mentorship directly from the founder
* A personalized LinkedIn recommendation after successful completion
* A professional reference for future opportunities
* Real campaign results that can be added to your résumé and portfolio
* Priority consideration for future paid roles as LIVEY grows
* The opportunity to help shape LIVEY’s national campus launch strategy
LIVEY will cover approved costs associated with campaigns, events, printed materials, branded merchandise, and other launch activities.
Successful Campus Marketing Managers may be considered for future leadership opportunities as LIVEY expands to additional universities across the country.
The people who help us figure out how to win our first campuses may become the people who help us build the national strategy.
Why This Matters
Human connection matters more than ever.
College students are surrounded by technology but often feel more disconnected, more isolated, and more frustrated with dating than previous generations.
LIVEY is not trying to help people swipe more.
We are trying to help people meet.
If you believe people deserve a more honest, direct, and human way to connect—and you want to help build it—we want to hear from you.
