RN - Orthopedics (Clinic)

Role Overview:

The Ambulatory Nurse applies a systematic nursing approach, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver competent patient and family care, ensuring adherence to standards and scope of practice.
• Accurately document care and provide health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
• Serve as a preceptor, supporting staff and healthcare student development.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing departmental standing orders.
• Perform symptom-based telephone triage assessments, patient education for surgical and non-surgical cases, wound care, specimen collection, and DME fitting.
• Hands-on procedures such as suture/staple removal and wound management.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills:

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a current Illinois license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
• Strong clinical skills, including patient education, wound care, and procedural competence.
• Leadership ability to support team development and quality initiatives.
