Role Summary:
Performs imaging procedures in accordance with organizational standards, policies, and scope of practice. Responsibilities include reviewing patient history and physician orders, educating patients, preparing and administering contrast media or medications, ensuring equipment safety, positioning patients, capturing high-quality images, analyzing results, and troubleshooting equipment issues. The role requires critical thinking, decisiveness, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Possession of necessary specialty certifications and state licensure if legally required.
- BLS certification through recognized organizations, valid through sixty days of hire.
- Review patient history, educate patients, and perform imaging procedures.
- Prepare and administer contrast media, monitor patient condition, and respond to changes.
- Ensure equipment safety, troubleshoot malfunctions, and perform quality control.
- Position patients, analyze images, resolve quality issues, and transmit images.
- Work with minimal supervision, demonstrating critical thinking and decisiveness in a dynamic environment.
