Role Overview:
Provides anesthesia care in the Operating Room to support surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of an anesthesiologist. Responsible for preoperative evaluation, postoperative follow-up, and acting as a patient advocate by liaising with patients, families, and physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers anesthesia, selects appropriate drugs, and responds to emergencies.
- Induces, maintains, and monitors anesthesia, adjusting medications as needed.
- Communicates patient status with surgical team and interprets hemodynamic data.
- Performs thorough preoperative assessments and organizes OR setup.
- Ensures patient safety through equipment checks, positioning, and troubleshooting.
- Provides anesthesia support across assigned areas and documents accurately in EMR.
- Transports patients safely, monitoring airway and providing handoff reports.
- Serves as a mentor and preceptor to staff, peers, residents, and students.
- Master's Degree in Nursing (required).
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
