Role Overview:
Provides direct patient care for complex cardiovascular surgery patients, utilizing critical thinking and clinical expertise. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educates on illness management, and ensures communication across care continuum. Uses advanced nursing skills such as arterial line monitoring and pacer wire management, with certifications in BLS, ACLS, and acute care.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree (required); Bachelor's preferred.
- RN license required, with no prior experience necessary; 2 years preferred.
- Critical care training and certification in BLS, ACLS, arterial line, and pacer wires.
- Ability to work safely and maintain alertness in a fast-paced environment.
- Assess and evaluate patients' physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
- Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans, ensuring clear communication among team members and with patients’ families.
- Educate patients and families on post-treatment care and medication management.
