We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Substance Abuse Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and behavioral observations to develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments such as medication management for pain, and other prescribed therapies following strict aseptic techniques.
- Monitor patients for signs of withdrawal or adverse reactions, providing immediate intervention as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, including case management, behavioral health specialists, and medical providers.
- Educate clients on health maintenance, relapse prevention strategies, and medication adherence to support long-term recovery goals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards while safeguarding patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure with active state registration required.
- Experience working in a residential or long-term care setting preferred, especially within substance abuse or behavioral health programs.
- Knowledge of addiction treatment protocols, including detoxification procedures and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
- Familiarity with medical office procedures, patient assessment techniques, and emergency response protocols.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems
- Critical care experience or hospital background in emergency medicine or ICU is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with mental health challenges
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10), and laboratory procedures related to substance abuse treatment.
