Position Summary
Little Earth Management is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents and staff. This role is essential in ensuring that our residential apartment complex remains a high-quality place to live by performing routine cleaning and light maintenance in common areas, hallways, and vacant units.
Key Responsibilities
- Common Area Upkeep: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and buff floors in lobbies, hallways, stairwells, and laundry rooms.
- Sanitization: Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles, elevator buttons, and handrails. Maintain public restrooms.
- Waste Management: Empty trash and recycling bins in common areas and ensure the outdoor dumpster areas are tidy.
- Unit Turns: Perform deep cleaning of vacant apartments (including appliances, windows, and bathrooms) to prepare them for new move-ins.
- Seasonal Maintenance: Assist with seasonal tasks such as light snow removal from entryways or picking up litter from the grounds.
- Supply Management: Monitor cleaning supply inventory and report needs to the supervisor to ensure no interruption in service.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in residential or commercial cleaning is preferred but not required.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for cleanliness and the ability to notice minor maintenance issues (e.g., burnt-out lightbulbs).
- Reliability: Strong punctual habits and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
