Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that foster literacy, math, physical activity, and social skills tailored to toddler development stages.
- Create a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence.
- Manage daily classroom routines including circle time, snack breaks, outdoor play, nap times, and learning activities.
- Use effective behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and emotional regulation among children.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns through meetings or written updates.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain detailed records of children's development and incidents.
- Incorporate special education techniques and early intervention strategies to support children with diverse learning needs.
- Maintain current certifications such as First Aid and CPR to ensure safety at all times.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons that integrate Montessori or other educational philosophies when appropriate.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, classroom management, and innovative teaching methods.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development principles specific to toddlers and preschoolers.
- Experience developing curriculum that includes literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Familiarity with special education practices and early intervention programs is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a nurturing environment.
- Strong communication skills for parent engagement and teamwork within an educational setting.
- Experience with standardized testing or assessments used in early childhood education is a plus.
- Knowledge of childhood welfare standards and daycare regulations to ensure compliance at all times.
- Previous teaching experience in private schools or Montessori environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
