Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and positive behavior management
- Support classroom organization by preparing materials, setting up learning stations, and maintaining a clean environment
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, daily activities, and any concerns or observations
- Follow health and safety protocols including first aid procedures, pediatric first aid, and mandated reporting laws when necessary
- Engage children in developmental activities that support childhood development milestones and early learning goals
- Support infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children with personalized care routines such as diapering, feeding, and comforting
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or childcare settings is highly preferred
- WVIT Certification or willingness to obtain it
- Certification in first aid and CPR (Childhood First Aid) is required or willing to obtain upon hire
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to supervise children effectively while demonstrating patience, kindness, and professionalism
- Familiarity with early childhood education principles, behavior management strategies, and toddler care practices
