  • Summary/Objective:

    An IT Field Support Specialist provides on-site and remote technical assistance to end-users. They troubleshoot hardware and software issues, install and maintain systems, and ensure network connectivity.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and network equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain network security and connectivity.
  • Train users on software and hardware usage.
  • Maintain documentation and inventory of IT assets.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex issues.

    Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working indoors, office environment.
  • May sit for several hours at a time.
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.
  • Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Certifications like CompTIA A , Network , or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) are preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows OS, and networking tools.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Supervisory Responsibility:

    This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

    Physical Demands:

  • Mobility: Ability to move between multiple work sites or client locations.
  • Lifting: Occasionally lift and carry equipment such as computers, monitors, and peripherals (usually up to 25–50 lbs).
  • Standing/Walking: Extended periods of standing or walking while performing installations or troubleshooting.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling cables, tools, and small components.
  • Visual Requirements: Ability to read screens, technical diagrams, and small print for extended periods.
  • Driving: May require driving to client sites or remote locations (valid driver’s license often required).
  • Climbing/Bending: Occasional bending, kneeling, or climbing under desks or into server racks.
  • Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time hourly position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager.

    Travel:

    Travel will be a majority of the role and would be primarily local during the business day.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (minimum).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline (preferred for advanced roles).
  • Relevant Certifications (often considered equivalent or complementary to formal education):
  • CompTIA A
  • Network
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
  • Cisco CCNA
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
