Duty Manager - Amusement Park Operations

Job Type Full-time Description Lion Country Safari is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Operations team as a Duty Manager. This role is essential in overseeing the daily operations of the Safari World Park, ensuring a safe, efficient, and exceptional experience for our guests. Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required. 3-5 years of experience in theme park, zoo operations, guest services, or a related management role. Must have strong leadership and organizational skills, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle the physical demands of the job. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 75 lbs. (with proper lifting techniques). Must be available to work weekends, holidays, special events and peak seasons. Valid Florida driver’s license required and ability to operate park vehicles essential. Knowledge of basic animal behavior and safety protocols related to safari operations is a plus. Knowledge of foreign languages is helpful but not required. Key Responsibilities: Operations Management: Oversee daily operations of rides, attractions, water attractions, and animal encounters. Monitor and enforce safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with park policies and protocols. Supervise and schedule staff to maintain optimal operational efficiency. Ensure all attractions, exhibits, and facilities are in excellent working condition. Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to address any facility concerns promptly. Ensure compliance with all state ride regulations, working closely with regulatory agencies and internal teams to maintain safe and operational attractions. Assist with first aid response and ensure proper documentation of guest and employee incidents. Guest Experience & Satisfaction: Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and efficiency. Monitor guest interactions to ensure high levels of customer service and engagement. Ensure safety protocols are followed during animal encounters and attractions. Staff Leadership & Training: Train and develop park staff on safety procedures, guest service, and operational protocols. Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement. Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and high morale. Special Events & Seasonal Operations: Assist with the planning and execution of special events. Ensure staff is adequately prepared for peak seasons and high-traffic periods. General Park Maintenance & Compliance: Ensure the park remains clean, well-maintained, and free of safety hazards. Complete daily operational reports, noting maintenance issues, guest interactions, and staff performance. Provide support across various departments as needed to maintain smooth park operations. Work Environment: Outdoor work required in varying weather conditions, including heat and rain. High guest interaction, requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills.
