Seeking a Controls Technician to join our Richmond facility. They will install, maintain, support, and improve plant floor control systems, ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of production processes.. They will maximize uptime and involve in PLC programming, SCADA system support, and close collaboration with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, modify, and maintain PLC programs and critical plant control systems.
- Support and upgrade SCADA systems (specifically WonderWare).
- Manage I/O checkout, system troubleshooting, and process improvements.
- Work closely with OEMs, contractors, and consultants to efficiently resolve complex control issues.
- Train maintenance and operating technicians on proper control system usage and best practices.
- Provide necessary on-call support for technical troubleshooting outside of regular hours.
- Maintain strict compliance with GMP, safety, and food safety standards.
- Coordinate with network administration staff for control network maintenance and stability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
- Document control system modifications and standard operating procedures.
- Test new control systems and equipment following installation.
- Assist engineers with capital projects involving automation and controls.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma is required.
- 2 year Industrial Technology, Automation, or Electrical/Electronic Technology degree is preferred.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Controls/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred.
- 2 years of experience modifying electrical schematics.
- Strong PLC & SCADA programming experience is required (specifically with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, PLC 5, SLC 5/05, and WonderWare Intouch/Archestra).
- Experience with MS SQL, Industrial SQL, WonderWare Historian, and AB PanelView is a plus.
- Experience with robotic automation (e.g., Fanuc, UR, Okura) is preferred.
- 5% travel may be required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined or hazardous spaces, and tolerate various environmental conditions.
