Osage County R-2 is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary English Language Arts Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in literature, writing, and language instruction, and a commitment to fostering academic excellence, critical thinking, and effective communication skills among students.

This position could consist of teaching Middle School (grades 6 - 8) or High School (grades 9 - 12).

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering engaging, standards-based lessons aligned with Missouri Learning Standards.
  • Creating a positive classroom environment that supports student learning and development.
  • Assessing student progress and providing timely feedback to support academic growth.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and administration to develop interdisciplinary connections and school-wide initiatives.
    Participating in professional development opportunities and school events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, English Language Arts, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification/license for Secondary English Language Arts (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Non-certified applicants are encouraged to apply if working towards certification.
  • Passion for inspiring young learners and fostering a love of Literature and Writing.

School District Information

Osage County R-2 School is a K-12 School located in Linn, Mo.  It is approximately a 30-minute drive from Jefferson City on Hwy 50.  We are a 4-day school week, operating Tuesday through Friday. 

 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

147 School Days
10 Contracted PD days
7 Paid Holidays:  Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, December 24, December 25, December 31, and January 1

Total:  164 contracted days
