Job Title: NACE Inspector
Location: Michigan
Job Summary:
We are seeking a NACE Inspector to join our team. This role involves inspecting gas pipeline coatings, monitoring containment, ensuring compliance with hazardous waste disposal regulations, and verifying that all work meets local, state, and federal guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coating inspection, surface preparation, and quality control for steel structures.
Key Responsibilities:

Inspect gas pipeline coatings and containment systems.

Ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with regulations.

Oversee surface preparation and coating application.

Maintain accurate daily field observation records.

Read and interpret plans, specifications, and standards.

Perform material sampling and testing.

Assist project management with problem-solving and developing solutions.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.

Regular walking over long distances.

Frequent lifting or moving of objects up to 50 pounds.

Climbing ladders, accessing manholes, and inspecting utility infrastructure.
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum three years of experience with cleaning and painting steel (bridge structural steel preferred).

Two years of experience with NACE Level 2 certification will satisfy the three-year requirement.

Minimum NACE Level 1 Certification required.

Valid driver’s license.

Physically able to climb or crawl through containment systems.

Ability to pass an occupational physical with pulmonary clearance (respirator).
