Account Manager - External

Location: Chicago, IL

Type: Full-Time


About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced and highly organized Account Manager to join our growing team. This role will be critical in managing day-to-day client operations, overseeing junior account functions, and ensuring all client work is completed with excellence. You’ll work directly with our Head of Accounting and CEO, supporting client retention and satisfaction through effective communication, strategic thinking, and operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide all junior account management tasks.
  • Execute strategy calls in a client-facing setting.
  • Generate and distribute efficiency and performance reporting to clients.
  • Quality check brand standards across client sector focuses.
  • Manage and track client scopes, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Own content inventory management across all client accounts.
  • Create analytical and performance reports to track key metrics and results.
  • Support the production team in ensuring deadlines and deliverable quality.
  • Maintain and manage client calendars, key dates, and campaign schedules.
  • Lead and manage regular client strategy calls and meetings.
  • Drive client ideation sessions, offering fresh, strategic insights.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (creative, production, paid media) to meet client goals.
  • Ensure brand consistency and quality control across all deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of experience in an account management or client services role within a marketing, advertising, or PR agency.
  • Highly personable and comfortable leading client-facing conversations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a strong attention to detail.
  • Confident in handling performance reporting, campaign planning, and client ideation.
  • Experience managing project management systems (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, Trello) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tactics (social media, paid media, content marketing, experiential marketing) is preferred.
