Position Summary:
The Maintenance Person is responsible for the general repair and upkeep of the building, its contents and the grounds outside. Also responsible for security and maintaining safe conditions inside and outside of the building for all staff, residents, registrants and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Follow maintenance schedules as outlined by the manager.
- Coordinate daily and non-routine maintenance tasks with other departments so as to keep disruption to a minimum.
- Keep all tools clean, in working order, stored and used properly.
- Keep all maintenance supplies orderly and notifies supervisor of low inventory.
- Plaster, sand, paint, and repair walls, doors, and ceilings throughout the facility.
- Maintain all plumbing and sewers in proper working order.
- Maintain all electrical circuits, lights and emergency equipment in proper working order.
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and determine when outside contractors are to be called to make repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance per the schedule.
- Maintain outside grounds including snow removal.
- Collect soiled linen, refuse and regulated medical waste.
- Test and maintain all the fire safety equipment.
- Handle all maintenance requisitions and make repairs as needed.
- Receive supplies and deliver to appropriate departments.
- Perform inside and outside security checks according to schedule.
- Observant to problem areas to insure safety and appearance of facility, equipment and systems.
- Perform other related duties as required by their manager.
Qualifications:
Education and Training - A high school graduate is preferred, but consideration will be given to those who are not graduates. Vocational training in building maintenance is also preferred.
Experience - Several years of experience in commercial maintenance work is a prerequisite. The individual should be able to do minor electrical, plumbing and equipment repairs.
Character - The individual must possess good moral character, patience, and compassion for the elderly.
