Shift: FT or PT, 6:30am - 2:30pm OR PD 3:30pm - 7:30pm (to include every other weekend rotation)

Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens, steam wells, microwaves, coffee systems, and dishwashers.
- Prepare and serve meals, beverages, and desserts, following proper portion sizes, consistencies, and food safety standards.
- Use adaptive equipment to meet residents’ needs and assist with special diets or thickened liquids.
- Maintain clean and sanitary work areas, equipment, and dining spaces.
- Support training of new team members and attend ongoing in-service programs.
- Follow proper handwashing, glove use, and safe food handling practices at all times.
- Ensure meals are presented neatly, with proper garnishing and plating.
- Adhere to dress code, attendance, and safety policies while promoting the wellbeing of our residents.
- Experience in food service or hospitality is helpful, especially in healthcare or senior living settings
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff
- Compassion and patience when assisting elderly residents, including those with mobility or cognitive challenges
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines consistently
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members visitors, government agencies/staff, and the public.
- Must be knowledgeable of practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
- Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle challenging residents/associates.
- Must be able to communicate with the staff, and other department supervisors.
- Maintains a rapport with the residents and their families.
- Must be willing to seek out new methods and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Must attend and participate in continuing educational programs.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift trays, and perform light cleaning tasks
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Must meet the general health requirements set fourth by the policies of this facility.
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Must be able to climb stairs.
Working Conditions:
- Will work in a well-lit and ventilated area.
- Will be subject to frequent interruptions.
- May be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
- May be subject to call-backs during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
- Is subject to injury from falls, burns, from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants and other air contaminates.
