Position Summary:
We’re looking for a creative, compassionate, and organized individual to join our team in a dynamic role supporting both our independent and assisted living communities. In this position, you’ll help bring daily life to our residents by planning and coordinating engaging programs, outings, and community-wide events that foster connection, joy, and a strong sense of belonging. From developing monthly activity calendars to collaborating with entertainers and community partners, you’ll play a key role in creating meaningful experiences tailored to the interests and needs of our residents.
This role also includes overseeing Creative Arts Assistants and transportation staff, coordinating resident transportation for appointments and outings, and helping maintain a warm, welcoming environment throughout the community. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute engaging daily programs and community-wide events for residents in both independent and assisted living
- Develop and maintain a monthly activities calendar, ensuring timely communication and variety in programming
- Build and maintain relationships with entertainers, vendors, and community organizations to support high-quality experiences
- Supervise and support Creative Arts Assistants and transportation staff
- Coordinate and schedule resident transportation for appointments, outings, and on-campus needs
- Safely operate company vehicles and support training for staff on transportation procedures
- Create and distribute daily communications (e.g., community updates or chronicles)
- Collaborate with staff, families, and external partners to meet resident needs and enhance quality of life
- Foster a warm, welcoming, and engaging environment that promotes resident wellbeing and connection
- Maintain open communication with team members to encourage fresh ideas and continuous improvement
- Participate in team meetings and support overall community initiatives
- Follow all safety procedures, policies, and attendance expectations while ensuring resident safety and security at all times
- Other responsibilities may be assigned
Key Requirements Other:
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/staff, and the general public
- Must have patience, tact a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle challenging residents/associates
- Must be able to communicate with the staff, and other department supervisors.
- Maintains a rapport with the residents and their families
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
- Must attend and participate in continuing educational programs
Qualifications:
- Experience in activities programming, recreation, healthcare, senior living, or a related field preferred
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is a plus
- A genuine passion for working with older adults and enhancing quality of life
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach
- Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging programs and events
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and demonstrate flexibility, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, with the ability to safely operate company vehicles
- Basic computer skills for scheduling, communication, and program planning
- Commitment to maintaining a positive, respectful, and resident-focused environment
