Position Summary:
GreenFields is seeking a dedicated Grounds Supervisor to join our team at our beautiful Lancaster, NY campus. In this role, you will lead a team responsible for maintaining the safety, appearance, and functionality of our multiple campuses. You will oversee landscaping, building maintenance, snow removal, and general grounds upkeep, ensuring that our campus remains safe, welcoming, and attractive year-round for residents, staff, and visitors.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on leader with expertise in groundskeeping, heavy equipment operation, and team management. You will supervise and train staff, coordinate schedules, manage equipment and supplies, and communicate effectively with facility leadership. *Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $31.00/hour - Pay commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities:
- Performs a variety of grounds and building maintenance tasks across multiple campuses, including masonry and fence repair, painting of buildings and furniture, and road and sidewalk maintenance.
- Supervises, directs, assigns, and evaluates the daily work of assigned staff across multiple campuses; trains employees on work procedures and equipment use.
- Participates in interviews and provides recommendations for the selection of job applicants.
- Communicates personnel and facility-related matters in a timely manner with Directors of Facilities.
- Ensures compliance with safety regulations and procedures; provides effective orientation and training to minimize workplace accidents.
- Maintains a preventative maintenance program for all grounds equipment and company vehicles; reports issues promptly to the Executive Director.
- Meets with the Executive Director on a monthly basis to review budgets and assist with forecasting for the upcoming year.
- Manages staffing schedules to ensure proper coverage for seasonal needs (winter and summer) and oversees daily departmental operations and time management.
- Operates and ensures staff are properly trained on the safe use of all equipment and vehicles required for year-round grounds maintenance.
- Maintains records of projects, requisitions, and purchases; provides regular updates to Directors and the Executive Director on status and progress.
- Oversees maintenance of all lawns and landscaping beds to ensure a well-kept appearance.
- Ensures all roads and surfaces are maintained for safe vehicle and pedestrian use.
- Operates large snow removal equipment and maintains required annual training certifications.
- Supports facilities across multiple campuses with deliveries, resident furniture moves, and other operational needs.
- Coordinates staffing, grounds management, and parking for campus events; ensures resident safety and emergency vehicle access.
- Maintains grounds free of debris and litter; coordinates routine rounds to ensure campus cleanliness.
Key Requirements Other:
- Adheres to all dress code standards, organizational policies, and safety procedures at all times.
- Promotes and ensures the safety and well-being of all residents on campus.
- Complies with all time and attendance policies.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in landscaping and snowplowing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a crew leader or foreman.
- Ability to lead and manage a team of 3 or more employees.
- Proficient in operating heavy equipment safely.
- Knowledge of perennials, shrubs, turf, evergreens, and trees.
- Dependable and reliable in completing tasks.
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Able to transport equipment and supplies across multiple campuses.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
Specific Requirements:
- Must possess a valid New York State driver’s license.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding work in all climates for 8–10 hours per day.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand, bend, and move equipment or materials safely across multiple campuses.
