Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring work progresses according to project plans and schedules.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth workflow and resolve issues promptly.
- Oversee safety protocols in compliance with OSHA standards, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to maintain a secure work environment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to guide daily operations and ensure accuracy.
- Manage project schedules.
- Monitor quality control measures to meet specifications, conducting inspections and addressing deficiencies proactively.
- Supervise field personnel, providing guidance on construction techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Ensure proper use of tools.
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, safety incidents, change orders, and project documentation for accountability and reporting.
Qualifications
- 5 years of commercial construction experience, including management experience. Specifically in all aspects of site work, carpentry/framing, concrete, and metal fabrication. (Any slightly unqualified applicants are encouraged to still apply)
- Extensive on-site construction experience with a solid understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating.
- Knowledge of contracts management and project scheduling techniques to keep projects on track.
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols applicable to heavy construction sites.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and interpret schematics for electrical or mechanical systems.
- Experience with quality control processes to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
- Technical proficiency with tools.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating teams, managing subcontractors, and liaising with clients.
