Lead Mechanical Designer

What you will enjoy doing*
- You will ensure design compliance with respective client specifications and industry codes
- Technical coordination with all disciplines related to the engineering and design effort is part of this role, as well to model in a 3D environment
- Further, you will participate as required in project meetings and design reviews and assist with fabrication and / or construction activities
- In this function, you will design structural and mechanical piping drawings: engineering or fabrication level for process and piping modules, platforms with ladder / grating / handrail, stairs, miscellaneous supports etc.
- In addition, you will be in charge for mechanical piping, civil design drawings: foundation, site preparation and grading plans, and underground storm systems
- Perform detailed checking of structural, piping and civil drawings is required
- Also, you will prepare project specifications for civil & structural and support concept proposal development, man hour estimate & MTO as required
- You have a two (2) year technical certification or equivalent experience and eight (8) years of experience
- Intermediate level CAD software skills including AutoCad, Microstation, Tekla, Frameworks, PDS, Smartplant 3D, and Geopak are required
- Additionally, you are complete familiarity with respective industry codes and standards
- You own effective computer skills like Microsoft Office software, and other company and discipline specific software applications
- Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company are required for this role
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skilled engineering projects are needed
