Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including oral surgery, with precision and confidence.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient care.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and digital radiography systems while adhering to infection prevention management protocols.
- Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical records (EMR) systems , ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, maintaining aseptic techniques, and supporting four-handed dentistry practices for optimal efficiency.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote overall wellness.
- Perform vital signs assessments and document medical information accurately to support comprehensive patient care.
Skills
- Extensive experience with dental assisting procedures
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure compliance and professionalism.
- Skilled in operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, sterilization units, and other diagnostic tools while following infection control standards.
- Expertise in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic technique to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Ability to perform medical imaging accurately while adhering to healthcare infection prevention protocols.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and healthcare professionals while managing patient interactions confidently.
