Position Summary

The objective of the Maintenance Technician is to support plant production machinery and facility maintenance activities, as required.

Essential Functions

1. Undertaking and completion of preventive maintenance activities to plant equipment utilizing the plant computerized maintenance management system.

2. Troubleshooting equipment problems or failures, determining the appropriate actions for repair, specifying parts and materials needed for repair, and ordering parts as required.

3. Developing solid, professional working relationships with all plant employees, and responding to requests for maintenance in a timely manner so as to reduce plant equipment downtime.

4. Must have the ability to complete repairs to equipment with minimal supervision, especially while working on the off-shifts.

5. Perform all planned and unplanned facility maintenance activities

6. Manage and update maintenance documents

7. Analysis, purchase, installation and coordination for new plant/processes consumables and spare parts.

8. Respond to leaks and spills as a member of the Haz-Mat Emergency Response Team by loading waste into transport vehicles.

9. Clean up spills in the Hazardous Waste containers

10. Properly remediate spills and prepare containers for Hazardous Waste

11. Move hazardous waste containers to the 90 days accumulation area for proper storage and disposal

12. Performs other duties as assigned

Work Environment

This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, requiring 8 hours of work per day Monday thru Friday, some overtime as business needs change. Willing to work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends, if necessary.

Education

1. High School Diploma or GED

2. Knowledge of CMMS, PLC, vacuum, electronics, welding, precision measuring instruments and ability to understand Blueprints

3. Career readiness certificate (minimum silver)

4. Able to lift at least 50lbs
