What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Clinical Charge Nurse (RN) position at Lincoln Surgical Hospital/Nebraska Surgery Center?

We are looking for exceptional people to provide extraordinary care as an Overnight Clinical Charge Nurse.
The Clinical Charge Nurse is responsible for the assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of safe and effective patient centered care, in accordance with evidenced based practice.
Hours: Full time, 72 hours per pay period (2 weeks). Three 12 hour shifts per week between the hours of 5:30 pm – 6:00 am. Self-scheduling and minimal weekend requirements.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist the Inpatient Nurse Supervisor in assuming responsibility of clinical management of patients and staff working the Inpatient Unit.
- Assist in developing and monitoring quality improvement issues.
- Plans, evaluates, or modifies treatment programs based on information gathered by assessing patients or by analyzing patient records.
- Applies clinical judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills to a situation, problem, or issue to achieve positive outcomes.
- Facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Provides clinical leadership and triage to patients seeking emergency care.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice in the State of Nebraska. Current licensure from a compact state requires Nebraska to be declared as their primary state of residence within thirty (30) days and must also obtain a Nebraska temporary permit or nursing license.
- Experience in CCU/ER/ICU/PACU/PCU-Stepdown with previous Charge Nurse clinical experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification required at time of hire.
- ACLS and PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Must obtain Prep/Cook Food Handler’s Permit within seven (7) days of employment.
