We are seeking an experienced Entertainment Attorney with strong industry relationships to represent Lima Films in the marketplace. This role centers on pitching and positioning our development slate, negotiating deal structures, and securing opportunities with studios, networks, production companies, and streaming platforms. The ideal candidate combines legal expertise with a strong business-development instinct and a passion for championing creative content.
Responsibilities
- Serve as legal and business representative for Lima Films, its slate, and its creative material in conversations with studios, networks, streamers, and production partners.
- Actively pitch and present projects for development, acquisition, production, financing, or co-production opportunities.
- Identify strategic opportunities, emerging buyers, and marketplace openings aligned with Lima Films’ slate.
- Maintain, cultivate, and expand relationships with key executives, producers, agents, financiers, and other industry stakeholders.
- Monitor industry trends, buyer mandates, and marketplace shifts to guide slate strategy and positioning.
- Collaborate with internal creative teams to refine pitch materials, decks, and scripts for market use.
- Support packaging efforts, talent outreach, and strategic partnerships to advance Lima Films’ projects.
- Lead or assist in negotiating deal terms—including development, production, rights, financing, and distribution agreements—in coordination with outside counsel or internal teams as needed.
- Help identify and evaluate new creative material that aligns with Lima Films’ brand and long-term strategy.
Qualifications
- J.D. and active bar membership
- 5–7 years of experience in entertainment law, business affairs, content sales, agency representation, or studio/network relations.
- Proven success pitching projects and securing deals or partnerships within major studios, networks, streamers, or production entities.
- Ability to navigate and negotiate complex deal structures across development, production, financing, and distribution.
- Strong understanding of film/TV development pipelines and current buyer strategies.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple active deals and projects in a fast-moving environment.
- Passion for advocating for creative material and expanding its reach in the marketplace.
