What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at Lily Extracts?
Lily Extracts is looking for a Full Time Bookkeeper to join it’s workforce. Reporting to the President and CEO, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for AP, AR, financial reporting, invoicing, expense recording, reconciliations, collections, reimbursements, payroll and other banking related items. The bookkeeper will be the CEO’s right-hand and will have the autonomy to build processes and procedures from the ground-up. This will be on-site with very limited remote work. Quickbooks and Excel experience is an absolute requirement for the role, along with any training on-site for the first one to two months of employment. This position has the potential to turn into a much more significant position within the company.
Primary duties and responsibilities
- Continuous AR reconciliation and audits
- Daily updating of Quickbooks logs for expense logging, AP, AR etc.
- Daily reconciliation of Inventory Management System invoices and Quickbooks
- Continuous monitoring of the P&L for accuracy
- Collections and follow-up on past-due invoices with customers
- Run payroll for all employees
- Monthly closing of the books
- Financial reporting to track quotas and goal setting
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis
- Improve existing processes and implement new processes for bookkeeping, logging/tracking expenses, etc.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years or older
- Bachelor’s Degree Required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of financial/accounting experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, namely Excel
- Must be fully committed to working full-time, and working independently
- Impeccable follow-through and follow-up
- Ability to work in a small, start-up environment
- Must have reliable, responsible, and dependable attention to detail
- Must have high level of integrity
- CPA Certification is a plus
- Must pass any required background checks and state specific cannabis employment requirements, as needed

Wage/Payment/General Requirements
- Starting pay is $40k-$75k, depending on experience
- Workdays will fall between Monday – Friday with weekend work, as needed
- Hours of operation will be between 8am – 5pm
- Must be on-site for the first 60-90 days, or until role is mastered. Hybrid role will be up for discussion afterwards.
The chosen candidate must submit to a full background check/fingerprinting, and the employee must be approved by the State of NJ.
Salary : $40,000 - $75,000
