Job Purpose

The ʻŌlino Pathways Athletics Coordinator is responsible for logistical oversight of athletics programming, Coaches, and Partners at Liliʻuokalani Center. The Coordinator handles tactical and logistical execution and day-to-day details that make programs run smoothly. The Athletics Coordinator will maintain a state-wide view and awareness of youth interests and needs in these areas, and will assist in facilitating the development of responsive, accessible, and engaging programming to meet those needs. Housed at the new Lili’uokalani Center (LC), the Athletics Coordinator will work collaboratively with other Pathway Coordinators and LT leadership to set the vision for programming and will engage in ongoing quality assurance and evaluation efforts.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day logistics regarding athletics coaches and relevant partners
  • Coordinate program schedules, communications, and data collection within assigned programs or events
  • Assist Manager in communications across internal departments, external partners/contractors, and families about programmatic details
  • Manage and update all digital program rosters, attendance, and participant profiles
  • Assist in facilitating athletic programs or events
  • Processes purchase requests and invoices for manager approval
  • Ensure program spaces are equipped with necessary supplies and/or tools
  • Confirm that Program Calendars and internal tracking systems are up to date
  • In collaboration with the Athletics Manager, identify local and national subject experts and best-in-class programs in athletics to learn from and partner with
  • Through intentional programmatic development, design, and implementation, cultivate a sense of community and social/emotional support for participants
  • Ensure that programming emphasizes a connection to the broader world balanced with deep understanding of Native Hawaiian culture, highlighting opportunities for learning and advancement for participants while also strengthening ties to local communities
  • Help coordinate the collection of data in processes that provide regular, actionable feedback from participants to inform program design
  • Work collaboratively with program leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and supervision of all program spaces
  • Provide program coverage for ʻŌlino Pathways Athletics programs and events
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance for program teammates

Other Duties

  • Participate in program planning, revision, and evaluation
  • Provides transportation for organization related business, such as driving staff, beneficiaries and/or families to assigned destinations
  • Participates in continuing education and training opportunities for professional development
  • Contributes to the Trust’s success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improve team and organization results
  • Evening and weekend hours as needed
  • Others as needed and assigned

Qualifications

  • BA in related field preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • At least four years of experience in youth work
  • Valid driver’s license, clean traffic abstract
  • TB clearance

Travel Requirements

In alignment with our organizational competencies of Alu Like I ka Hana (Teamwork) and Hoʻomau i kaʻimi Naʻauao (Continuous Learning and Improvement), this position will require occasional travel across the island, inter-island, and out-of-state depending on the needs of the team and the organization. While travel may not always be a need, the ability to travel when required remains a crucial aspect of this position.

  • Ability to demonstrate exercises and techniques and performing physical activities.
  • Capacity to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment, up to 50 pounds.
