Preschool Assistant

Job Summary

Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Preschool Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a nurturing, engaging, and supportive environment for young learners. In this role, you will work closely with lead teachers to implement educational activities, manage classroom routines, and support the developmental needs of children from toddler to preschool age. Your positive energy and commitment will contribute to fostering a love of learning and ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to explore their world.

Duties

• Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate lessons that promote literacy, math skills, social-emotional development, and early childhood education principles.
• Support classroom management by maintaining a structured, safe environment that encourages positive behavior and engagement.
• Provide attentive childcare and supervision during activities, free play, meals, nap times, and transitions throughout the day.
• Help implement specialized programs such as Montessori or sensory activities tailored to individual needs, including working with children with autism or disabilities.
• Support classroom organization by preparing materials, setting up learning stations, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with children to foster language development and social skills while building trusting relationships.
• Collaborate with teachers on curriculum development efforts and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse learning styles and developmental stages.

Skills

• Strong understanding of childhood development theories and early childhood education best practices.
• Experience in classroom management and behavior management techniques to support positive student interactions.
• Proficiency in lesson planning across literacy education, math, and other foundational subjects for young children.
• Ability to work effectively with children of various abilities, including those with special needs or requiring additional support.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members clearly and professionally.
• Technical proficiency in educational tools or curriculum development software is a plus.
• Prior experience in daycare or preschool settings, including private school environments or Montessori programs.
• Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities or autism to tailor supportive strategies that promote inclusion.
