Job Summary

Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate lessons that promote literacy, math skills, social-emotional development, and early childhood education principles.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a structured, safe environment that encourages positive behavior and engagement.
- Provide attentive childcare and supervision during activities, free play, meals, nap times, and transitions throughout the day.
- Help implement specialized programs such as Montessori or sensory activities tailored to individual needs, including working with children with autism or disabilities.
- Support classroom organization by preparing materials, setting up learning stations, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with children to foster language development and social skills while building trusting relationships.
- Collaborate with teachers on curriculum development efforts and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse learning styles and developmental stages.
Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development theories and early childhood education best practices.
- Experience in classroom management and behavior management techniques to support positive student interactions.
- Proficiency in lesson planning across literacy education, math, and other foundational subjects for young children.
- Ability to work effectively with children of various abilities, including those with special needs or requiring additional support.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members clearly and professionally.
- Technical proficiency in educational tools or curriculum development software is a plus.
- Prior experience in daycare or preschool settings, including private school environments or Montessori programs.
- Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities or autism to tailor supportive strategies that promote inclusion.
