Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote infant development, including sensory play, motor skills, and social interaction
- Provide attentive care to infants, including feeding, diapering, and comforting as needed, following health and safety protocols
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and stimulating environment conducive to early learning
- Observe and document individual infant progress, behaviors, and milestones to inform teaching strategies and communicate with parents or guardians
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and health regulations to maintain a safe environment for all children
- Engage in ongoing training related to childhood development, infant care techniques, and special education practices
- Collaborate with team members to create inclusive activities that accommodate children with disabilities or special needs
Skills
- Proven experience working with infants or toddlers in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting or similar settings
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development instruction
- Certification in pediatric first aid and child CPR (First aid) required; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus
- Strong understanding of classroom management techniques tailored for infants and young children
- Ability to follow safety procedures diligently and adhere to mandated reporting laws
- Excellent caregiving skills with a nurturing approach that promotes trust and emotional security
- Effective communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and team members
