Position Summary
Fiber Optic Technicians and Splicers support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fiber optic telecommunications systems.
This role requires the ability and willingness to travel as needed for projects and assignments. Travel opportunities may include per diem eligibility and overtime opportunities.
Essential Duties
- Install, splice, test, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic systems
- Read and interpret maps, prints, diagrams, and project documentation
- Assist with construction, installation, and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure
- Operate safely in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
- Respond to service outages and emergency repair needs as part of an on-call rotation
- Complete required documentation and communicate project updates effectively
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a safe and professional manner
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards
Qualifications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including day, night, and mid shifts
- Ability to distinguish colors and read fine print
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
