About Lightways Hospice
Founded in 1982 as Joliet Area Community Hospice, Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care is an independent, nonprofit healthcare provider licensed in 11 counties in northwest Illinois. We provide exceptional serious illness care, hospice care and grief support for adults and children.
The majority of our direct patient care is in the field with Lightways team members providing care in the home, nursing facility or assisted living facility. We also have a 24-bed inpatient unit in Joliet. Non-clinical staff are based out of our Joliet administrative offices.
Massage Therapist:
Provides massage therapy services to Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care to our pediatric patients in our northern region. Role requires flexibility and travel to patient locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate pediatric palliative and hospice patients for massage therapy services, ascertaining any necessary precautions or contraindications prior to each visit.
- Design personalized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members
that address needs based on assessment findings. - Explain procedures thoroughly and apply techniques appropriate to patient needs and
preferences, modifying approach based on patient response as necessary. - Document all visits and interactions with patients and families according to established
guidelines and policies. - Maintain caseload, including scheduling visits and adhering to or adjusting visit
frequency as needed per patient needs. - Attend interdisciplinary team meetings (IDT) and collaborate with IDT members to ascertain whether patients qualify for massage therapy.
- Conduct oneself in an authentic, ethical, accountable, and culturally sensitive manner by providing safe, appropriate, and effective massage therapy techniques.
Education/Experience:
- High school graduate or GED
- Pediatric Experience Required
- Bi-lingual preferred
- Successful completion of an approved massage therapy program.
- Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in Illinois.
- Maintains current with licensure by obtaining required Continuing EducationCredits (CEUs) as defined by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- One (1) year experience as a massage therapist.
- Certification in manual lymphatic drainage techniques preferred.
Part - time positions are not eligible for benefits.
Salary : $27 - $34
