Behavioral Health Specialist (Youth Development Center)

Be part of a team providing innovative life changing residential care to youth in need.  The Behavioral Health Specialist utilizes their unique skills and understanding of trauma and mental health to provide direct care to teenage youth in a residential setting.  They work as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive service delivery.  The Behavioral Health Specialist plays a crucial role by providing and monitoring therapeutic interventions, engaging youth in treatment programing and in motivating a positive peer culture.  They are consistent in demonstrating therapeutic communication, unconditional positive regard and empathy during all interactions with youth and their families.

Competitive pay based on licensure and educational experience.

Starting Hourly Rate - $17.00 and up

Available Shifts

Full Time Split Shift: 8am-4pm Monday-Tuesday-Friday/ Saturday -Sunday 3pm-11pm

Full -Time 1st shift 8am-4pm Monday-Tuesday Friday -Saturday-Sunday 

Full-Time shift 8am-4pm Tuesday-Saturday 

Full-Time 2nd shift - 3pm-11pm Monday Friday Saturday & Sunday 

Part-time Shift Weekends Only 8am-10pm Saturday & Sunday 

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise youth in a residential setting, provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Provide direct monitoring of youth and facility throughout the work shift.
  • Document any significant events in the log and progress notes, complete incident reports when appropriate.
  • Plan and supervise recreation activities, assistant in meal preparation.

Qualifications:

Required Education 

  • High School Diploma/ GED 

Preferred Education and  Experience 

  • Associates or higher degree
  • At least 1 year of experience in serving at risk youth or in a residential program
  • A background or college courses in education ,social work or psychology 

 

Salary : $17 - $26
