Position Overview
Lighthouse Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented Precision Assembly & Finishing Technician to support our aerospace machining operations. This role is responsible for component assembly, parts marking, and precision deburring of machined parts to meet strict aerospace quality standards.
The ideal candidate has experience working in a machine shop environment and takes pride in producing high-quality, defect-free components.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly of precision aerospace components according to work instructions and engineering drawings
- Execute parts marking using methods such as laser marking, vibropeen, or hand stamping in accordance with customer and aerospace specifications
- Conduct precision deburring and edge finishing to remove burrs and sharp edges while maintaining tight tolerances
- Inspect parts visually and with basic measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications
- Maintain clean and organized workstations in accordance with 5S standards
- Follow all AS9100 and quality management system requirements
- Document work completed accurately on routers, travelers, or digital systems
- Collaborate with machinists, quality inspectors, and supervisors to ensure production goals are met
Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in all or one of the areas included:
- Assembly in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
- Deburring and finishing machined components
- Parts marking (preferred but not required)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Familiarity with hand tools, microscopes, and measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing or other regulated industries
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience working under AS9100 or ISO quality standards
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Manual dexterity for handling small precision components
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
