Position Overview
Lighthouse Manufacturing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 2-Axis / 3-Axis CNC Machinist to join our aerospace manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-precision components that meet strict aerospace quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform machine setups and operate 2-axis and/or 3-axis CNC machines
- Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Ensure parts meet tight tolerance requirements and aerospace specifications
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Make offset adjustments and minor program edits as needed
- Perform deburring, cleaning, and finishing of machined parts
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
- Follow all safety protocols and quality standards, including AS9100 requirements
- Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve issues
Qualifications
- 2 years of CNC machining experience (2-axis and/or 3-axis preferred)
- Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Familiarity with tight tolerance machining
- Experience performing full or partial setups
- Proficiency with inspection tools and techniques
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Fanuc or similar CNC controls
- Knowledge of G-code editing
- Understanding of AS9100 quality systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
